Are you looking for a great activity for the whole family this weekend?
Amberleigh Village ballet students Nati Carignano and Christy Warner are performing in the Lafayette Ballet Company's 22nd annual production of the Nutcracker this weekend. These hard working students have been rehearsing up to 5 hours a day all this week in final preparation for the performances this weekend.
Both Christy and Nati have featured roles in this year's production, including Christy as the Fighting Nutcracker who battles the evil Rat Queen in Clara's dream. Nati's solos include the Milkmaid and the Ice Crystal. Christy and Nati will both portray the Columbine Doll, Tea, and the Marzipan Shepherdess in alternate performances.
It is not too late to make plans to come out and support this wonderful community event. Performances are at 2:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 8th, and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9th, at the Long Center for the Performing Arts, 111 N. Sixth St., in downtown Lafayette. Tickets will be available at the Long Center box office two hours before each performance. Ticket prices range from just $8 to $14.
